The Book Shelf

Last week Craig finished the book shelf and our friend Aaron helped us move it into the guest bedroom. It looks fantastic! He is officially done building furniture for the guest bedroom. I think he's relieved to have a small break from the wood shop and I'm excited to have someone to hang out with after dinner. The next project he plans on tackling is a wooden crate for Laney!

Here's how it turned out:

No books yet...
Books on the shelves, but now we need to fill in the gaps...

Decorated!
We bought the wooden letters at Michael's and painted them a bluish grey color to match the bedspread and curtains.

We bought the painting in Santorini, Greece back in May.

The background piece is a cloth napkin from the World Market wrapped around a piece of ply wood and attached with a staple gun. Thanks, Craig! The candle holders are also from the World Market.

Here are the plans for the book shelf. You'll probably notice that our shelf is considerably larger than the one in the plans. Craig had to use his math skills to build me a larger one...we have a lot of books! If you'd like the measurements for the shelf Craig built, just shoot me an email: jpmiller520@gmail.com
